Information We Collect Through Automatic Data Collection Technologies
As you navigate through and interact with our Services, we may use automatic data collection technologies to collect certain information about your equipment, browsing actions, and patterns, including: details of your visits to our websites and usage of our Services, including traffic data, location data, logs, and other communication data and the resources that you use for access including your IP address, operating system, and browser type.
The technologies we use for this automatic data collection may include:
Cookies (or browser cookies). A cookie is a small file placed on the hard drive of your computer. You may refuse to accept browser cookies by activating the appropriate setting on your browser. However, if you select this setting you may be unable to access certain parts of our Website. We may also use your personal information for identity verification and fraud prevention.
We retain personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, including to comply with legal, regulatory, and contractual obligations. We may use Reusable Identity Data to streamline your later onboarding to, or transaction-enablement within, another participating platform that uses Meld, but only where we have obtained consent required by applicable law.

If you are located in the European Economic Area ("EEA") or the United Kingdom ("UK"), we only process your personal information when we have a valid "legal basis," including as set forth below.
Consent. We may process your personal information where you have consented to certain processing of your personal information, including for processing of biometric information and certain types of data sharing.
Contractual Necessity. We may process your personal information where required to provide you with the Services. For example, we may need to process your personal information to respond to your inquiries or requests.
Compliance with a Legal Obligation. We may process your personal information where we have a legal obligation to do so. For example, we may process your personal information to comply with tax, labor, and accounting obligations.
Legitimate Interests. We may process your personal information where we or a third party have a legitimate interest in processing your personal information. Specifically, we have a legitimate interest in using your personal information for fraud prevention, internal analytics purposes, and otherwise to improve the safety, security, and performance of the Services. If you have enabled the Reusable Identity Data functionality and consent to disclosure, we may disclose your name and email address to platforms that use Meld to streamline your identity verification with another platform that you choose. Any participating platform that receives your Reusable Identity Data may use it only for that limited purpose, as further described in its own privacy notice and applicable terms.
You may withdraw that consent at any time by contacting us at contact@meld.io or by using any in-product withdrawal mechanism we make available. Withdrawal of consent will not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal.
Your Privacy Rights
We provide you with choices regarding the personal information you provide to us.
Tracking Technologies and Advertising. You can set your browser to refuse all or some browser cookies, or to alert you when cookies are being sent. If you disable or refuse cookies, please note that some parts of this site may then be inaccessible or not function properly.
We do not control third parties' collection or use of your information to serve interest-based advertising. However, these third parties may provide you with ways to choose not to have your information collected or used in this way.
